Mediation is a method of managing and resolving conflicts in which an impartial and neutral third part intervenes. This third part is previously requested and accepted by the parties in conflict, either by the the parts in conflict or by judicial or administrative authority. The aim is to assist and facilitate the parties themselves to obtain a satisfactory result for both.

Municipal Mediation Services perform tasks of counseling, training and professional services of mediation, which means prevention, management and peaceful resolution of conflicts from a global approach, all over the area of the municipality.

Its purpose is to encourage the improvement of civic life in the town encouraging the active involvement and co-responsible citizenship, from an intermediary position. Working for the coexistence means working in favor of dialogue, inclusion, social cohesion and the search of alternatives for resolving and transforming everyday conflicts.

Mediation municipal services promote mediation actions in the territory,
providing support and methodological strategies to the municipal professionals and intervene directly with the population who live in conflictive situations on a community framework in order to be able to prevent their negative expressions and / or manage those who already have a critical character to promote coexistence among citizens in the municipalities.
