MODERNIZING THE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION OF CULTURAL WORKERS

There is currently no standardized and quality professional training for workers in the arts and cultural sector in Europe. This leads to low social recognition, low salaries, and uncertain career prospects. It is in this context that the project funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program MOVECULT – speculations on a contemporary training program for cultural workers – was born.

MOVECULT aims to improve the situation of workers in the cultural sector by developing a contemporary, target group-oriented vocational training program based on the principles of inclusivity, Europeanization, and digitalization. Therefore, within the framework of the project, the following documents were produced for this purpose:

• A first report with an overview of existing educational programs for cultural workers in Austria, Germany, and Spain, the merits and gaps of the present.
• A speculative curriculum and didactic concept for an inclusive, European, and digital VET program for cultural workers. In what follows, we plan possibilities for deepening and implementing this program.

It has been very pleasing to work with all partners and to re-think the present and future of cultural workers.

Actualmente no existe en Europa una formación profesional normalizada y de calidad para los trabajadores del sector artístico y cultural. Esto conduce a una falta de reconocimiento social, salarios bajos y perspectivas de carrera inciertas. Es en este contexto que surgió el proyecto financiado por el programa Erasmus+ de la Unión Europea MOVECULT – especulaciones sobre un programa de formación contemporáneo para trabajadores culturales.

MOVECULT pretende mejorar la situación de los trabajadores del sector cultural mediante el desarrollo de un programa de formación profesional contemporáneo y orientado al grupo destinatario, basado en los principios de inclusividad, europeización y digitalización. Por eso, en el marco del proyecto, se elaboraron los siguientes documentos con ese propósito:

Un primer informe con una visión general de los programas educativos existentes para trabajadores culturales en Austria, Alemania y España, los méritos y las lagunas del presente.

Un plan de estudios y un concepto didáctico especulativos para un programa de EFP inclusivo, europeo y digital para trabajadores de la cultura.

En lo que sigue, planeamos las posibilidades de profundización e implementación de este programa. Ha sido muy grato trabajar con todos los socios y re-pensar el presente y futuro de los trabajadores culturales.
